Students successfully completing the ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology will be eligible for an exemption of up to 4 courses (48 credit points) into RMIT Bachelor of Information Technology (BP162), Vietnam campus.

Entry requirements

• Academic: Successfully completion of the ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology.

• English: IELTS Academic 6.5 (no band score below 6.0), or equivalent. For other recognised English results, please view English equivalency requirements.

Students who fail to meet the above English requirement will be offered the English for University courses of 10-20 weeks at RMIT, depending on their Placement Test result.

Qualification description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of information and communications technology (ICT) roles who have established specialised skills in a technical ICT function.

 

Individuals in these roles carry out moderately complex tasks in a specialist field, working independently, as part of a team or leading a deliverable with others. They may apply their skills across a wide range of industries, business functions and departments, or as a business owner (sole trader/contractor).

 

The skills required for these roles may include, but are not restricted to:

  • advanced networking: configuring and managing virtual computing environments, and security within ICT networks

  • advanced programming: applying intermediate and advanced programming skills, managing data and building advanced user interfaces to manage organisational requirements

  • back end web development: developing and maintaining website information architecture and data..

CHC52021 Diploma of Community Service

This qualification reflects the role of community services workers involved in the delivery, management and coordination of person-centred services to individuals, groups, and communities.

At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously within their scope of practice under broad directions from senior management.

Workers support people to make change in their lives to improve personal and social wellbeing and may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers. They may also undertake case management and program coordination.

Community service professionals work for government-funded, non-profit, and philanthropic groups. Your work may contain the following:

  • aged care

  • welfare support

  • social housing

  • child, youth and family welfare

  • alcohol and drug intervention

  • health promotion

  • mental health

  • disability services.

 

Your career could lead you in a variety of ways, including offering support, advocacy, or interventions to individuals, organisations, or communities; working under the guidance and supervision of others; or administering programmes and services directly.

You may also look for work in community education or development projects. Typical job titles include:

  • assessor

  • case worker or manager

  • client service assessor

  • community services worker

  • early intervention worker

  • family support worker

  • pastoral care counsellor or manager

  • senior youth officer or chaplain

  • welfare worker.

 

This diploma is frequently used by non-governmental organisations to train their community services staff.
