NSW Real Estate Certificate Study Reform

Updated: Nov 11, 2022

So let's examine today whether NSW, Australia's financial center, has significantly altered the standards for the Property Certificate.

For a licenced agency practitioner, the previous NSW Certificate of Practice required 4 units, or 3 units in Victoria, plus "communication with clients in agency work."

The five required units for the Level 4 Certificate, Professional Practice in Real Estate, Ethical Practice in Real Estate, Real Estate Legislation, Building a Marketing and Communications Profile, and Real Estate Trust Accounts, have been added to the current NSW Certificate of Practice in Real Estate. As you can see, the new state rules are far more "user-friendly" for beginning real estate professionals. The Level 4 Certificate must be completed within the following 4 years in order to keep your real estate personal licence, as these 5 units of study are only valid for a year and you must complete 3 of the Level 4 Certificate's other units each year once you enter the workforce.k

Victoria and NSW are thus typically a change of pace for those working on their Real Estate Practitioner Certificate.

What changes have been made to the NSW Grand Certificate?

In general, before and after the little ones need a total of 7 years to apply for the agency licence, as the NSW Great Certificate requires 2 years of relevant work experience following the conclusion of the Level 4 Certificate study, in addition to the study of the Diploma. Of course, you can reduce the time to 2-3 years if you follow Victoria's example and complete a Level 4 certificate along with a college credential and two years of work experience after receiving the Level 4 certificate.

However, it still takes some time and costs money to renew the certificate each year. In reality, the real estate certificate reform in NSW and VIC is still approximately the same, with a little lower threshold for beginners in NSW. There is essentially no need to renew the certificate in the future, even though the barrier is greater in Victoria. The certificate will continuously be legitimate as long as you can locate a trustworthy agency.
